In March 1918, Konosuke Matsushita founded Panasonic together with his brother in law Toshio Iue, who would later on create the company Sanyo Electric. The first products that the company produced were fan insulator plates, attachment plugs, and two-way sockets. The business experienced heavy growth that Matsushita leased a site and turned it into a factory only four years after the inception of his company.

After building a relatively successful company in Japan, Matsushita left for the United States in the 1950s because he wanted to shift the company’s perspective and set his sights globally. He also made it a point to strengthen the company’s research and development team and modernise its production facilities.

1953 was called “The Year of Electrification,” and there was a boom in the manufacture of electrical appliances such as TVs, washing machines, and refrigerators that improved the quality of life in Japan. The company took advantage of this boom by expanding its operations to meet the growing needs of the market.

Panasonic manufactured and sold its first air conditioner in 1958. Matsushita realised right away that this appliance will be a big hit in the near future, given the humid and hot conditions in Japan at the time. The company went on to develop air conditioners that were compact, lightweight, and designed for home use. Since then, Panasonic has been serving the comfort needs of Australian homeowners by providing them with top-notch Panasonic ducted air con systems. More recently, the company has been topping Canstar Blue’s survey for overall customer satisfaction for the years 2014, 2016, and 2017.

The Panasonic ducted system is composed of an outdoor unit and an indoor unit, which delivers the cooled or heated air through a series of ducts or cassette vents. Both units are compact and lightweight, making them easy to transport and install in your home. The indoor unit is hidden from plain sight so you can be assured it will not interfere with your existing décor. Are you in the market for a brand new air conditioner? Then you need to arm yourself with the following information before asking for a quote: the size and layout of your home, the rooms that need to be zoned, the number of occupants, the status of your ceiling cavity, and many more.

You also need to check on the warranty of the unit you are thinking of purchasing. Warranty is important because it gives you peace of mind and reassurance that the manufacturer will deliver on its promise and will make it up to you if something goes wrong with the appliance. It will also help lower your out-of-pocket expenses once you need to have the unit repaired. Panasonic has backed its air conditioning products with a five-year warranty on parts and labour.

Purchasing a Panasonic ducted air conditioner will be a huge investment on your part, which is why you need to protect this investment by hiring a professional to do the installation. You need to choose a properly trained and licensed installer that has been certified by the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC). Not doing so may void your warranty and could lead to early malfunction of the product.
